God enjoys looking at you.

I see you bae!

God enjoys looking at you. Simply looking at you is something He likes doing.

Eph 1:4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

Job 36:7 He never takes his eyes off the innocent, but he sets them on thrones with kings and exalts them forever.

Have you ever just stared at your newborn baby cradled in your arms? They are just laying there, boring as heck, because well, basically, they are newborns and do nothing but eat, sleep, and poop all day. But yet we still stare lovingly into their chubby little faces and it brings us joy.

Well the same is true for God. Compared to him we basically only eat, sleep, and poop too. But He enjoys peering down from His glorious throne to look at us in all our cuteness. (“awe, look at the little mama Brenda, drinking her cup of coffee reheated 3 times because she doesn’t actually have time to drink it while it’s hot. I think, I’ll just kiss her little cheeky weeky. Aren’t you just the cutest little thing?!?!?!?”)

That God enjoys looking at us is blowing my my mind. The creator of the universe, the miracle working God, the God who raises people from the dead is looking at me and is enjoying what He sees. Even when we are not perfect. Even when we have flaws we think we are successfully hiding (but aren’t). Even when we flat out mess up, He sees us without fault! He see you beautiful and he enjoys it.

Joshua 4:14 That day the Lord made Joshua a great leader in the eyes of all the Israelites, and for the rest of his life they revered him as much as they had revered Moses.

Sometimes we are so down on ourselves, we have no confidence. We see ourself as messed up, overweight, tired, flawed, useless, unorganized, forgetful, Etc. the list goes on with what we say about ourselves. But God is able to change what people see, what you see. God is able to show you what you look like through His eyes. He sees you beautiful and great. He sees you though his perspective. His view vs. our view is like taking a selfie from a bad low angle compared to a selfie while holding your arm up high. The picture just always comes out looking better from a higher position.

Mark 8:23-25 Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around. ”Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.

Ask God to heal your eyes. We might be blind or we might see our true selves slightly but he can make our eyes see like we are really supposed to. Ask Him to give you His view, his perspective, his picture of you. (His high angled instagram filtered selfie of all your cuteness)
