REBUILT!

 

I’m sure you heard about the Notre Dame Cathedral by now. How sad is that?!?!? Such a historical landmark destroyed. It was considered one of the most beautiful buildings ever built!  I do however have hope they will rebuild it and restore it! Once they do, I think it calls for a trip to Paris!! (hint hint, hubby!)

 

 

Jesus told the people in John 2 that they could destroy the temple but He would rebuild it in three days. He was referring to HIs body and His death on the cross and how He would come back to life in three days. He knew what he was capable of! He believed even if they killed Him right then, He’d come back from the grave. He had confidence in what His body was capable of because of His relationship with his Father. He knew no matter what these people did to Him, no matter what He was going to go through, He was able to bounce back from even the grave! He recognized That His body was the Temple of the Holy Spirit!

 

 

You may feel like you are in the grave right now! Or at the least you may feel tired and weak. But, just like Jesus’ body was a temple, First Corinthians 6:19 says our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our body is as strong as a temple. That means we are capable of more too! When we are feeling weak, when we are feeling broken, we are actually stronger than we think! We are capable of more than we think! Even if we feel broken and crumbled we can be rebuilt. 

 

 

 

1 Cor 6:19 "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself..."

 

In the story, Jesus had been physically pushed, worked and consumed with zeal. Jesus was probably mentally and physically wore out! It was stressful and heartbreaking thing He had just gone through yet He still had the strength and boldness to know that if they destroyed Him right then He would still be raised from the dead after three days. Even at one of His most exhausted moment, He knew He was capable of incredible strength and determination!

 

 

I mean I know when I see the Paw Patrol sock on the floor even after I asked them to be picked up 38 times I can be consumed with zeal and it’s exhausting physically and mentally! I can feel dead inside after repeating myself 17 times! But in all seriousness, we all go through times of stress! We all go through exhausting seasons in our mom life. But here's the deal… We can be rebuilt!. Just like Jesus knew this temple could be rebuilt in three days, we can have faith that we can be rebuilt, remodeled and made whole again. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is in us making us strong and sturdy. 

 


We can keep momming on knowing what we are capable of even if we don't understand it, see it or feel it! We moms are a freaking temple! Our bodies, emotions and soul are stronger than we realize! You got this mama!

John 2:13-22. 13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” 20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.
